Former Milwaukee Bucks star Jrue Holiday is not the only newcomer for the Boston Celtics. Given all the hype surrounding Holiday’s recent move to Bean Town, it’s almost easy to forget about the fact that they also added another former All-Star earlier this summer in Kristaps Porzingis.
Ex-Milwaukee Bucks Stud Jrue Holiday Heaps Praise on Kristaps Porzingis
Porzingis arrived in Boston a couple of months before Holiday joined the squad, so the 7-foot-3 big man has had more time to acclimatize himself with his new team. Porzingis had nothing but high praise for Holiday, noting how the ex-Bucks guard stands out as one of the few guards who can defend him down low.
Holiday had no shortage of high praise for his new teammate as well:
“I’m glad that I’m on his side. I’m glad that I’m here with him,” said Holiday, via Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston. “He’s a 7-foot assassin. He can shoot it from anywhere on the court.
“I think people maybe, just over the years, have forgotten about how great of a player that he is and the things that he’s done in this league. So being here with him and trying to build that chemistry as quickly as possible, because I’m late to the game, is something that we’re trying to do.”
He’s absolutely right. They don’t call Porzingis the Unicorn for no reason. This man is just a few years removed from being the New York Knicks’ cornerstone superstar. Injuries have played a significant role in Porzingis’ fall from grace, but as Holiday said, this is something the Latvian intends to erase now that he gets a fresh start in Boston.
His new teammates are going to be behind him every step of the way.
