NFL fans reacted on social media when the Kansas City Chiefs took down the New York Jets 23-20 on Sunday night football. A lot of people had issues with the officiating on social media because a lot of them thought the officiating was favoring Kansas City over New York in critical moments.
This isn’t the first time where the officiating has favored the Chiefs over the past calendar year. During the game on Sunday night in the fourth quarter, Sauce Gardner and Marquez Valdes-Scantling were being physical with one another, and Patrick Mahomes threw an interception, but the refs threw a flag after the interception.
When the penalty was called on the Jets, head coach Robert Saleh was in an uproar with the NFL officials, as he should be. This horrendous officiating it drew a lot of attention from NFL fans on Twitter, and they have every right to be frustrated with what was displayed last night. Let’s be honest: the New York Jets were robbed of having a chance to come back against the Kansas City Chiefs despite Zach Wilson outplaying Patrick Mahomes.

Every single tweet is 100 percent correct, and there are a lot of more Tweets that will be amusing as well. The word RIGGED was trending on Twitter last night when this game was almost over. A lot of fans are upset that the game was decided by the refs and not the players, and they have every right to be.
New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh should have called out the refs 100% at his post-game press conference. Speaking of press conferences, why can’t NFL officials be interviewed after games like players and coaches? That is such a joke.
The Kansas City Chiefs Also Benefited From Calls by NFL Officiating During Last Year’s Super Bowl Run
There were two times that the Kansas City Chiefs benefited from NFL officiating last postseason. The first time was against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, with the game tied at 20 in the fourth quarter. Patrick Mahomes is running toward the sidelines, and Bengals defensive player Joseph Ossai was called for a 15-yard penalty, which put the Chiefs into field goal range and a trip to the Super Bowl after Harrison Butker made the kick.

The second time this happened was in last year’s Super Bowl, with the game tied at 35 in the fourth quarter. On a third down play with less than two minutes remaining, James Bradberry was flagged for a “holding” penalty on Juju Smith-Schuster. It resulted in a first down for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Super Bowl title after Harrison Butker made a field goal.
The Philadelphia Eagles never got the ball back after that. That was once again another example of NFL officiating deciding the game for one NFL team.
