The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love got punched in the face on Thursday Night, and weren’t able to punch back. The Lions went up early and never looked back. Scoreboard at Lambeau Field at half read 27-3, not in favor of the good guys.
Jordan Love had his ups and downs in the game. He finished with 23 completions on 36 attempts. He threw for 246 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also recorded a rushing touchdown. After the game head coach Matt LaFleur commented on Jordan Love.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Talks Jordan Love After Their Loss To The Detroit Lions
LaFleur said he thought Jordan Love did a fantastic job throwing with pressure in his face all night.
“I thought he made some unbelievable throws.”

Love certainly shined at times during the Packers’ loss to the Lions. Some of his throws went viral on Twitter:
Stands in there and delivers a strike despite pressure in his face. Doesn’t crumble or fade away. Jordan is that dude. Lots of work to do around him but god I love the prospect of this kid being the Packers QB. pic.twitter.com/v8u1aaBLFZ

Love may have changed Colin Cowherd’s mind despite the loss against the Lions. Though he didn’t consider Love elite, he couldn’t criticize the way he performed:
“I think Jordan Love’s fine to this point. Nothing you see… He doesn’t feel overwhelmed like Zach Wilson, he’s not regularly inaccurate like Justin Fields, and there’s nothing here that would mortify me. You know, some of this is he needs snaps, he needs games. He’s been uneven. Good half, bad half, good half, bad half. That’s the sign of a young quarterback.”
The Packers are hoping to see enough out of Jordan Love this year that gives them reason to believe that he could be the next franchise quarterback. It is likely that the Packers will want to commit to Love long-term if he shows just that.
The Packers will take on the Las Vegas Raiders on October 9th.
