Green Bay Packers: Colin Cowherd Sounds off on Jordan Love Following Comeback Victory vs Saints

After leading the Green Bay Packers to their largest comeback in franchise history, Jordan Love has been receiving an unbelievable amount of praise. Heading into the fourth quarter down 17 points, the Packers scored all of their 18 points in the fourth. Love displayed an unreal clutch factor in just his first year starting in the NFL. His play thus far has even caught the attention of scouts, and one even compared him to Aaron Rodgers. However, one particular analyst doesn’t have the same opinion as most other people.

Colin Cowherd Blasts Jordan Love After Green Bay Packers’ Victory Against Saints

Despite Love’s recent success, Colin Cowherd isn’t convinced. While many can see Love turning into an elite quarterback, Cowherd isn’t sure if he’ll even turn out to be good.

“I don’t think Jordan Love’s great… I’m not sure if he’s even very good. I’m not sure if he’s good. He was 22 of 44. Some dropped passes, some really bad throws. But it’s the largest comeback in Packers history.” Cowherd Said.

Not only is Cowherd not convinced, but he’s not giving any credit where credit is due. Love’s completion percentage is low due to his average depth of target. While that’s not an amazing excuse, he hasn’t looked nearly as bad as Cowherd is inferring.

“Jordan Love trails 17 – nothing. But he’s got that young, naive, optimistic, ‘we’re never out of it till the game ends’ feel and I think players pick up on that,” added Cowherd. “I think teammates pick up on that now. Did he get a break? Derek Carr got hurt. Yes, he got a break.”

Derek Carr getting injured had nothing to do with Love. Love lead his offense to score 18 points in the fourth quarter. Perhaps the defense caught a break, but they did what they needed to do. Love delivered in the fourth quarter when the Packers need him most. Through three games, Love has a 2-1 record, and a better statistical start than Rodgers did last season. Would it be absurd to say he’s top-10 right now? Yes, absolutely. But he could easily get there by next year.
