At this point, it would be too early to say that Green Bay Packers rising star Jordan Love is going to be an all-time great quarterback. However, based on his first two games as Green Bay’s QB1, there’s also no denying that this young man has the potential to do so.
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love’s Blistering Start
Over his first two starts of the new season, Love has completed 29-of-52 passes for 396 yards. More importantly, he’s logged six touchdowns in just two games in what has been an incredible opening salvo for the 24-year-old. Love has now doubled his TD tally in two games compared to the three touchdowns he scored in his first three years in Green Bay.
Not only that but thanks to his blistering start, the Packers QB has now entered Patrick Mahomes and Kurt Warner territory:
“Per the Packers’ dope sheet, Jordan Love is the fourth quarterback ever to throw for at least three touchdowns with no interceptions in two of his first three career starts. He joins Patrick Mahomes, Kurt Warner and Case Keenum in that department,” wrote Zach Jacobson of CBS Sports.
Patrick Mahomes just became the highest-paid player in NFL history (again), while Kurt Warner is a Hall of Fame, Super Bowl-winning quarterback. For Love to be mentioned in the same breath as these two icons of the sport (and Case Keenum) is an absolute honor for the young Green Bay QB.
For what it’s worth, the Packers are scheduled to take on Mahomes and the defending champs Kansas City Chiefs on December 3rd. You can be sure that Jordan Love will be out there for that one to try and prove a point.
Numbers Don’t Lie
Another stunning stat that speaks volumes of Love’s strong start is the fact that he’s also joined a couple of Packers QB legends in Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre. Love’s six touchdowns in two games place him in the Top 3 of Green Bay’s quarterback franchise history:
