The Green Bay Packers were so close to going 2-0 to start the season on Sunday. In the end, however, they were unable to hold on as the Atlanta Falcons completed a comeback victory to secure a hard-fought 25-24 win over Green Bay.

There were a couple of bright spots in the loss, though, including rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed’s eye-opening performance.
Green Bay Packers Rookie Enters James Lofton Territory
Jayden Reed turned more than a few heads in his Week 2 performance against the Falcons. The second-round rookie had four receptions for 37 yards while also scoring two touchdowns on the evening. Needless to say, Green Bay would not have been in a position to win the game had it not been for Reed’s heroics.
Thanks to his strong play against Atlanta, Reed has now joined Hall of Fame wide receiver and Packers legend James Lofton in an elite two-man touchdown list:

When it comes to some of the most iconic wide receivers in Packers history, James Lofton has got to be one of the first players on the list. This is exactly why it’s an absolute honor for Reed to be mentioned in the same sentence as the legendary Green Bay WR — in just his second game in the NFL, no less.
At this point, the Packers are looking like they made the right decision in using their second-round pick on the former Michigan State standout. Jayden Reed will now look to keep it going in Week 3 as Green Bay hopes to bounce back against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
