Green Bay Packers Make 1 Major Decision At Safety Before Chicago Bears Game

The Green Bay Packers made a vital decision Saturday at safety ahead of their Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears Sunday. The Packers coaching staff has been trying to find a replacement for Adrian Amos this season.

Head coach Matt LaFleur said the starting safety alongside Darnell Savage would be fluid this season. The Packers listed Rudy Ford as a starter on their depth chart ahead of Week 1. The Packers decided to add depth to the position before Sunday’s game.

According to a statement by the Packers, the team activated safety Innis Gaines to the active roster against the Bears.

Gaines played in seven games and started one for the Packers in the 2022 season. He played in 44 defensive snaps and 99 special teams snaps. Seeing how the Packers plan to use Gaines on Sunday will be interesting.
