New Los Angeles Lakers Recruit Christian Wood’s Dream-Come-True Reaction to LA Move

Christian Wood has finally found a new home. This is after the 27-year-old agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, thereby putting an end to his two-month search for a new team.

The 6-foot-10 big man was linked to a number of teams in NBA free agency, but nothing came to fruition up until Tuesday. Right now, Wood is in dreamland.

The Lakers officially announced the signing on Wednesday on Twitter:

Wood himself took to social media as soon as news broke that he was on his way to Hollywood. It’s safe to say that the former UNLV standout is delighted with this recent development.

“It’s always been my dream to be a laker ,” Wood wrote in his tweet.

Wood has been around the block quite a bit throughout his seven-season career in the NBA. LA is now his eighth team in as many years after stints with the likes of the Dallas Mavericks (his most recent team), the Houston Rockets, the Detroit Pistons, and the Philadelphia 76ers (his first team in the NBA).

Throughout his journey, however, Wood has always held out hope that he would one day represent the purple and gold. Well, his dream just came true on Tuesday.

Christian Wood: A Former Milwaukee Buck

Apart from the teams that were mentioned above, one other side that Wood played for was actually the Milwaukee Bucks. This was during the 2018-19 campaign after he signed with the team as a free agent in the offseason. Wood, however, played just 13 games for Milwaukee, averaging 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 4.8 minutes per game.

Needless to say, Wood was unable to live up to the expectations the Bucks had on him when they signed him, and he ended up getting himself waived toward the end of the season.

For their part, LA is definitely hoping to get a much better version of Wood.
