Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks Game Preview, Prediction and Odds| August 26, 2023

The Green Bay Packers will host the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 1 p.m. in their final preseason game. Lambeau Field figures to be packed with the news that Jordan Love will get the start.

The Seahawks are 2-0 this offseason after defeating the Dallas Cowboys 22-14 last Saturday. Drew Lock led the way at quarterback, completing 5 of 6 passes for 119 yards. Running back SaRodorick Thompson rushed 11 times for 50 yards and a TD. Rookie wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba collected three receptions for 58 yards.

Defensively, Seattle collected two sacks and an interception. Through two games, they have given up 14 points or less.

The Packers enter this one with a 1-1 record following a 21-17 loss to New England. Remember that the game was conceded early due to the tragic injury to the Patriots’ cornerback Isaiah Bolden.

Newly named backup quarterback, Sean Clifford, completed 13 of 19 passes for 137 yards. Jordan Love was 5 for 8 with 84 yards and a TD in limited action. Running back Emanuel Wilson rushed 15 times for 63 yards. Undrafted free agent wide receiver Malik Heath had five receptions for 75 yards.

Packers linebacker Kingsley Enagbare led the defense with two sacks, and the team held New England to 245 yards of offense.

Will the Seahawks finish the preseason undefeated, or can Love and the Packers build momentum heading into the regular season?

The Packers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games and 5-2 SU. They are 5-0 ATS in their previous five games against Seattle and 14-6 SU in their last 20 games at Lambeau Field. According to Packers.com, they have no injuries to report.

Seahawks vs. Packers Preview and Stats

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have completed 71.7% of their passes this preseason and tallied 460 passing yards while giving up 408 passing yards to the opposing team in two games. Drew Lock leads the team with 310 yards and two TDs on 22 for 30 passing.

They have amassed 247 rushing yards while giving up 177 rushing yards to their opponents. Holton Ahlers leads the team with 68 yards on 13 rushing attempts. Rookie Zach Charbonnet and SaRodorick both have runs of 29 yards.

This Seattle offense could be a top-10 unit this year, and if they can find a way to beat the 49ers, they will have no problem winning the NFC West. The Rams and Cardinals are in rebuild mode and will likely be competing for #1 pick in next year’s draft.

Their defense will shock some people this year and is already being hyped as Legion of Boom 2.0. While that seems a bit far-fetched, they will be a solid unit.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers enter this one having completed 71.4% of their passes for 475 yards, while their defense has given up 385 passing yards through two games.

Sean Clifford has completed 33 of 45 passes for 345 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Jordan Love has accrued 130 passing yards, completed 12 of 18 passes (66.7%), and threw two touchdowns in limited playing time.

The ground attack has been solid for Green Bay, as they have racked up 302 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The defense has given up a meager 162 rushing yards in two games and two touchdowns on the ground.

Emanuel Wilson leads the team with 174 rushing yards on 21 attempts and has broken off an 80-yard touchdown run this preseason.

Green Bay is looking to shock people this year and prove they don’t need Aaron Rodgers to dominate the NFC North. Their offense has looked sharp this preseason, and Jordan Love looks like he has what it takes to help the Pack be successful for years to come.

Defensively, they are stout, and while they may not have a bunch of “name brand” players, this organization has done a phenomenal job developing late-round and undrafted players.

Mark my words: This Packers team will not be as bad as people think. They are talented and have a deep and healthy roster filled with playmakers. They also have one of the best coaches in the league in Matt LaFleur.

Game Prediction

This is an easy one if you look at things from both sides. The Packers have dominated the Seahawks lately and have done a phenomenal job defending their home field. Look for Love to come out slinging the ball and put on a show. Seattle will be without Smith-Njigba, and I don’t see DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett playing in this one. Ride the Cheeseheads in this one to build momentum and confidently roll into the regular season.
