James Harden, earlier in the offseason, wanted out with the Philadelphia 76ers organization. He has been around GM Daryl Morrey for a very long time, between his time with the Houston Rockets organization and with Philadelphia.
However, Harden had some harsh words to say about him.

He said, “Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be part of an organization that he’s a part of.”

James Harden said these words during his very recent Adidas China Tour. Also, according to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Harden never received an offer from the 76ers this offseason. The organization ended trade talks a couple of days ago and moved on with James Harden on the Philadelphia 76ers roster for next season.
According to Spotrac, his $35 million player option was exercised for the 2023-2024 season, but he is not committed to this franchise past this season. Still, it appears as if James Harden doesn’t even want to play in Philadelphia this season, and that is why he made those comments.
Harden is trying to push his way out of town. The NBA season is about two months away, and we will see if he sticks with his words or not.
James Harden’s Next Move
Could James Harden potentially hold out for the start of the Philadelphia 76ers training camp? Well, he has a history of trying to force his way out. Harden also forced his way out with the Brooklyn Nets, and he also forced his way out with the Houston Rockets, both via trade.
This seems to be an ongoing trend with him, and it seems like when times get tough for him, he wants the easy way out, and he has been like this whole career. Last season, he averaged 21.0 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 10.7 APG.
