NBA News: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks Get Christmas Day Matchup Vs. East Rivals

NBA news: The schedule for a couple of marquee dates for the upcoming season was announced on Thursday, and one of them was the league’s loaded slate of Christmas Day games. As expected, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will be in action on December 25th as they revive their rivalry with one of their Eastern Conference foes.

NBA guru Shams Charania revealed the five games that have been scheduled for Christmas Day, and a matchup against the Bucks and the New York Knicks has been included in the slate:

That’s a pretty packed schedule, which among others, will also see the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics add another chapter to their age-old rivalry. The defending champs Denver Nuggets will also be in action against the 2022 title-holders Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

As for the Bucks, though, this will be a good opportunity to test their title credentials against a Knicks side that is coming off a relatively impressive campaign. The Jalen Brunson-led side will be looking to build on their success from 2022-23, and with a few key additions to the squad, this team could be a real problem in the East. This Christmas Day showdown between the Bucks and the Knicks should be a good one.

While the Bucks have been slated to play on Christmas, Giannis Anteotkounmpo and Co. were snubbed from the NBA’s opening night slate. This honor will belong to Nikola Jokic and the defending champs Nuggets as they host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals. Kevin Durant will play his first game in the Bay Area since 2019 as the Warriors host the Phoenix Suns:

The Bucks will likely need to wait for Day 2 of the new season to kick off their campaign.
