Lions Sell Out Season Tickets For the First Time Since 2002

The Detroit Lions have been the laughingstock of the NFL for two decades. With horrible coaching hires, terrible draft picks, and throw-in a winless 0-16 season in 2008, it’s been hard-pressed to find positive moments in Detroit.

Since Head Coach Dan Campbell was hired in 2021, this team went from a laughingstock to a sleeping giant. In his first year as head coach, Campbell went 3-13, and last season went 9-8. All of the credit goes to Campbell and General Manager Brad Holmes as they acquired and drafted talent who embodies the city of Detroit.

Not only that, but the national media is giving Detroit their flowers by projecting double-digit win totals for the upcoming season. Their first game of the season is against defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs.

Why Is This a Pivotal Year for the Detroit Lions?

The fans can already sense this could be a special year for the Detroit Lions. But can the Detroit Lions live up to lofty preseason expectations? They haven’t been expected to compete in the NFC for a while.

Remember the 2019 Cleveland Browns after they added Odell Beckham Jr. to go along with Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry? That was a preseason Super Bowl pick, and they finished the season 6-10.

This league has been in business for a long time, and nobody knows how their team will fare. The Lions could be good because they have a veteran quarterback in Jared Goff, an underrated wide receiver in Amon-Ra St. Brown, and a defense that came on late last year.

Either way, it’s exciting that the Detroit Lions have a chance to be a good team. With Aaron Rodgers out of the division, there could be a changing of the guard in the NFC North.
