  • Juventus has been suspended from European competitions for one year starting immediately because they violated financial fair play (FFP) rules.
  • This ban means that Juventus will not be able to participate in the 2023-24 Europa Conference League.
  • Additionally, the European soccer governing body has imposed a €20 million financial contribution on the Italian club, with €10 million being conditional.
  • During the 2022-23 Serie A season, Juventus received a 10-point deduction after being found guilty of breaking rules by the Italian FA appeals court.
  • Although Juventus finished seventh in the league and qualified for the UEFA Conference League, they have also been banned from that competition for the upcoming season²⁵.
  • Fiorentina will take Juventus’ spot and play in the same tournament where they faced West Ham in the final last season on June 7.
  • Juventus chairman Gianluca Ferrero expressed regret for the UEFA Club Financial Control Body’s decision. He disagreed with their interpretation of the club’s defense but decided not to appeal the judgment. The club aims to bring an end to the uncertainty and provide clarity to their stakeholders about future international competitions, similar to the decision made in a previous dispute with the FIGC in May.
