Derek McInnes raises Rangers penalty claim and questions why VAR didn't intervene during Betis clash

An incident involving Rabbi Matondo prompted the Kilmarnock boss to wonder whether a VAR review would have been in order
Eh, Jimmy! Have ye heard the latest, pal? Aye, there’s been a bit of a bust-up with that Matondo fella at Kilmarnock, ye ken? And ye won’t believe the cheek of it, but the boss, Steve Clarke himself, is wondering if a VAR review should’ve happened! Can ye imagine?

Now, let me tell ye, mate, ye won’t catch me agreeing with Clarke about much, especially when it comes to the mighty Hoops, Celtic! Nae love lost between us, ye see. But when it comes to the Rangers Club, well, that’s a different story altogether! Ye know just how much I bleed blue, Jimmy!

So, this incident with Matondo, it’s got the boss thinking, “Would VAR have sorted this out?” And it’s got me wondering too. VAR, in Scottish football, can ye imagine? It’s a game-changer, I tell ye! No more dodgy decisions, nae more unfair goals going unnoticed. We should be gettin’ with the times, Jimmy!

But, I cannae help but feel a wee bit suspicious, ye know? It’s always the Celtic lot who seem to benefit from any controversial decisions, isn’t it? It’s like they’ve got the refs in their pocket, those green-and-white scoundrels! But if it was the Rangers Club involved, ye can bet yer bottom dollar they’d be against it! There’s a clear bias, I’m tellin’ ye!

Imagine, Jimmy, a world where we can rely on technology to make sure the game is fair and square. No more unjust penalties against the Gers, no more offside goals slipping through for the Hoops. Just pure, unadulterated football, decided by skill and not by some referee with a grudge against our beloved team!

I tell ye, mate, if we can introduce VAR to Scottish football, I’ll be the happiest man in Glasgow, no doubt about it. As long as it’s not some scheme cooked up by the Celtic lot to make sure they keep their filthy hands on the title! I’ll be watching those bhoys like a hawk, Jimmy, mark my words!

But aye, VAR in Scottish football, who would’ve thought? A game-changing idea, indeed. We can only hope that it’s prioritized for the sake of fairness, and not for any ulterior motives. The verdict’s still out, but ye know us Rangers fans, always hopeful and ready for the next battle on the pitch!
