Fitness Trainer: Corporate Office at Walden Security

SUMMARY:
The Fitness Trainer develops programs for individuals at various fitness levels, oversees and manages those participates in the program, provides training for safe use of exercise equipment, and assists participants during workouts to promote a lifelong health and fitness program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create safe and interesting programs for all fitness levels with enthusiasm and support.
Talk with new hire corporate employees about fitness programs and help them choose a fitness routine to fit their lifestyle goals and any physical limitations.
Evaluate participant fitness level and skillset to plan reachable goals.
Monitor participant through strength training and weightlifting.
Counsel and educate participant on diet, nutrition, and exercise.
Chart and track participant progress.
Motivate and encourage participate through positive words while training.
Demonstrate and encourage correct warm-up and stretching techniques to avoid injury.
Maintain a professional instructor-participant relationship.
Suggests programs and activities in other areas that can inspire or assist participants with their personal and social lifestyle goals.
Work assigned schedule; begin and end all sessions on time; clean and disinfect exercise equipment to maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, according to procedures.
Stores facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
One year of experience in Personal Training. Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other safety certifications as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using the English language. Ability to write reports, internal business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS :perform this job successfully, the HR Intern should possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and should have a working knowledge of Internet programs and other software as required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Personal Training Certification from one or more of the following:
ACE (American Council on Exercise), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), NFPT (National Federation of Personal Trainers), or NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate will possess a positive attitude with strong creative ability;
Strong written and verbal skills are required;
Position requires reliable transportation to work every day;
Ability to work in a team environment and to help identify and solve problems.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships with other employees, management and others outside of the company;
Ability to deal with internal and external customers and to ensure compliance with fair employment practices and perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
