Responsibilities

Job Purpose

 The Fitness Counter Staff is responsible for providing customer service to members and guests while monitoring activities in the fitness center. The Fitness Counter staff is passionate about interacting with members to ensure a positive guest experience. Under the direction of management, the Fitness Counter Staff assists in taking phone calls, answering questions, handling correspondence, and keeping the reception area clean.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge, greet and thank all members and guests Serve the needs of members and guests of the facility by helping; verifying identification for members, registering guests and collecting fees where appropriate; creating new member ID cards; handling transactions and collecting court fees Answer incoming calls according to ACE Standards, taking messages, transferring calls or making reservations as needed Maintain the atmosphere and safety of the facility by conducting hourly tours (picking up trash, retrieving equipment, etc.), issuing equipment (basketballs, sports equipment, day use locker keys, etc.) following AGC guidelines Complete administrative duties by creating promotional flyers, assisting with monthly statements and mailings Maintain service in the pro shop or tennis shop as needed by assisting customers, straightening merchandise Promote use of facility and programs by greeting members/guests sincerely and enthusiastically; maintaining an atmosphere that motivates long-term participation and member retention Handle member/guest service issues in a prompt and effective manner, notifying supervisor of member/guest concerns Maintain strict adherence to AGC personal appearance standards Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management Other duties may be assigned by management

Qualifications

Qualifications

CPR certification and First Aid preferred Ability to communicate effectively with members, co-workers and management Valid driver’s license is required

Education

High school diploma preferred and 1 year of related experience in retail sales, customer service or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions

Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs. Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
