POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for all aspects of the Fitness center working in a supportive role to the Spa Manager in driving key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to Spa Membership, guest satisfaction, operating requirements, marketing and promotions, VIP guest visits, associate relations and department training. Overseeing the Pool & Fitness team, the Fitness Manager will play a key role in exceeding guest expectations through a programme of continuously improving all standards within the Spa. They will be responsible for revenue generation through up-selling of Membership, personal training and cross-sales to other areas in the Spa & Resort.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for achieving sales targets as set by the Spa Manager. Encouraging clients to return to the spa by recommending ongoing fitness programmes and personal training sessions based upon achieving objectives taking into account their needs and goals, monitoring their progress on a regular basis.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of all treatments, packages and any promotions, cross-selling other products & services in the spa to maximise the potential of all sales.
- Overall responsibility of overseeing the Pool & Fitness team, reporting any concerns to the Spa Manager.
- Develop personal exercise and diet plans for members and create and deliver exercise classes and workshops. Perform all fitness activities to an exceptional standard, as per the Forbes standards.
- Take full supervisory responsibility within the Spa in the absence of the Spa Manager and Assistant Manager, acting as Manager On Duty and Spa Representative as and when required, including attending any required meetings.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
- This position is open to candidates requiring a sponsored visa.
- Must be able to demonstrate a professional manner at all times, particularly with regard to interactions with guests and fellow associates.
- Communicate effectively and clearly in English, using positive speech and body language at every opportunity.
- Previous experience within a Spa or leisure environment is essential.
- A strong desire to work within the hospitality/leisure industry is essential.
- Level 3 in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training qualification is essential.
- Previous spa or fitness supervisory experience is required.
