Clinical Nutrition Dietician at Pentec Health

Pentec Health is hiring a part-time Nutrition Counseling Dietitian, be responsible for provision of diagnosis-specific Nutrition education and counseling. Will provide initial and ongoing education as needed. In addition, this role will provide patient/caregiver education and training where applicable as well as serve as nutrition subject matter expert.

Must be fluent in Spanish and be a licensed Dietitian in Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate will have experience assisting patients with diabetes, wound care and be Medicare credentialed.

Hours for this position are flexible, work can be done from home.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Focuses on the education of nutrition therapy patients, via telephone or video call.
  • Completes the Start of Care and follow-up education for home nutrition counseling patients.
  • Follow up on patients as deemed necessary by customer or leadership
  • Performs duties as assigned in a timely, efficient, competent manner, including timely completion of documentation and communication to internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates knowledge of diagnosis-specific nutrition therapy and counseling and operates as a subject matter expert to the sales, intake and clinical team.
  • Creates and provides education to the employees to keep them abreast of new information in nutrition therapies.
  • Creates/reviews documents that will be used for customer education.
  • Participates in Quality Management meetings (i.e. Clinical Leadership, KPI, and Churn).
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required

Skills, Competencies and Experience:
  • Registered Dietitian for at least two years.
  • Experience in counseling patients in weight loss, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, PCOS, renal and GI issues
  • Ability to research and provide thorough nutrition counseling to patients with all diagnoses for which patients are referred for service.
  • Participation in CAQH and must maintain credentialing with identified commercial insurance plans and Medicaid/Medicare
  • 2-5 years of nutrition counseling experience
  • Exhibits professionalism in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with internal employees and external customers (referral sources, patients, and other people and/or companies as needed).
  • Superior communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Works independently as needed to finish own work assignments.
  • Able to work autonomously and make independent decisions within generally accepted medical practices, regulations and guidelines.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of health insurance and third party reimbursement helpful.
  • Strongly prefer thorough knowledge of Kalix EMR system
  • Experience working remotely
Required

Education, Certifications, Trainings:
  • B.S. degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related equivalent.
    • Registered Dietitian or Licensed Nutritionist as required by State.
Preferred
  • CNSC preferred or other advanced degree or certification.
Required
  • Intermediate computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
Travel Requirements

As necessary based on business needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor.
