The Coordinator, Fitness & Recreation develops, coordinates, schedules, implements, supervises and evaluates of a variety of recreational programs, activities special events and facilities. Modifies programs based on the skills and abilities of the participants.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provide members of the college community exercise programs, information sessions on Fitness and exercise-related topics, instruct exercise classes and events. Provide members fitness assessments and exercise equipment orientations
Assist in the evaluation and hiring of student employees and student group fitness instructors
Opening and closing the facility as scheduled or required
Assist in the creation of new programs, events, newsletters and collaboration with other departments
Maintains a clean and healthy fitness center
Coordinate, market, and implement recreational sports events for the student community
QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform the job.
Bachelors' Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline required
Current CPR and First Aid certifications required
Professional certification from ACE, AFAA, NSCA, NASM or ACSM
Masters' degree and two years of fitness and recreation experience at the intercollegiate level preferred
Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the nature and goals of a Liberal Arts College and have the ability to work within an academic setting with a commitment to student development
2 or more years related industry experience required

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and utilize other software applications as necessary.

Repetitive movements, occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds, reaching, lifting, stooping and the ability to read a computer screen, detect color-coding and read fine print will be expected.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
This position works in an office and a sports environment

COMPENSATION
Compensation for this position will be between $ 43,777 - $ 52,532 annually, commensurate with experience.
