About the role

The Supply Services Manager role is primarily responsible for the strategic review and day to day management of internal stock and other requisition orders, supply and logistics process inclusive of central store, ward inventory management, receiving dock activities including supervision of team members, with oversight of the buying and receiving process, pick/packing of orders, transport and delivery of stock and non-stock orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of warehouse activity function and team members to ensure that continuity of the supply chain for required goods and services for catalogued and non-catalogued items as required by the business is maintained;
  • Responsibility for ensuring effective ensure efficient stock management and delivery processes are enacted including reporting on stock shortages, excess and dated stock and co-ordination of annual stocktake process;
  • Assist Procurement Manager with adherence to Grampians Health’s Purchasing Policy and Procedures together with compliance with the policies and procedures as issued by Health Share Victoria (HSV) and other Government directions;
  • Management of Clinical Products Adviser to ensure clinical stock held is cost effective, compliant with relevant quality standards and is fit for purpose within Grampians Health - Ballarat; including co-ordination of product trials and standardisation projects;
  • Ensure timely processing and appropriate authorisation of orders placed through ARM requisition system, including monitoring and reporting of transactions to ensure compliance with the Grampians Health Delegations of Authority Policy;
  • Assist Procurement Manager in establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and negotiating terms of contracts and prices;

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing supply warehouse function; experience in this function in a health or a health-related environment is desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing vehicle fleets and other ancillary services.
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferable in Supply Chain, Finance or Business Management and/or Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Australia (CIPSA) are desirable but not essential;

Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to understand financial information and reconcile stock system to general ledger;
  • High level computer skills with proficient experience in the use of finance systems and the use Microsoft Office software. Experience with Epicor software is desirable, but not essential.

Leadership

  • Aligns team with the organisational values and goals through effective people management, coaching and positive modelling;
  • Ability for strong leadership, decisiveness and ability to manage all areas of team members including development and succession planning.
