Allied Health Assistant/Habit Coach - Western Sydney at Everyday Independence

Your new role: Habit Coach
Employment type: Part time ongoing - 24 hours per week
Salary: $39,709 - $41,093 per annum including Annual Leave Loading & Superannuation + Phone + Laptop (depending on experience)

We are looking for a Habit Coach to support in servicing the Granville, Western Sydney and surrounding areas so that our local, regional and remote participants can have frequent access to services and support to achieve their outcomes.

You will be supporting participants across a lifespan in their home or community environment to assist them reach their full potential.

The Role:
  • Work under the guidance of our highly qualified Allied Health professionals to carry out duties which complement the therapy program of a participant. Your role will play a vital part in enabling the participant to develop greater independence and work towards reaching their full potential
  • Carry out face-to-face and non face-to-face tasks that bring life changing experiences to participants
  • Be the best you can with on-the-job training from leading Allied Health professionals
  • You will be equipped with a mobile device to communicate with your coordinator, therapist and access systems
  • The Habit Coach will play a critical part of the service delivery between the participant and the therapist
  • As an excellent rapport builder and motivator, you will engage the participant using your empathetic nature to model components of a new routine or skill, and provide prompting when needed
  • An astute professional, you will work within the scope of the role, respecting the boundaries of a habit coach and that of a therapist
  • You travel to the participant's and support them in their home or community environment
What do you need to be successful?
  • Be flexible to work across all ages and stages of life. For example, we have a high number of participants under the age of 7 years old
  • Available at key routine moments of the day. For example, participants often seek support to assist with morning (6:30-9:30am) and afternoon routines (3:30-6:30pm)
  • You will need to be available Wednesday mornings for Team Meetings
  • Be open to travel to regional / surrounding areas
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instruction and respect scope of practice boundaries
  • Consistently maintain clear focus on the goals and outcomes of our participants, yet have the ability to be flexible regarding the tasks required of you. Your actions will reflect professionalism and company protocol at all times
  • You are self-motivated, reliable and can work autonomously
  • Excellent Communication Skills – verbal and written
  • Minimum Certification 3 in Allied Health Assistance or similar (more detail can be provided upon application)
  • Valid drivers licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Working rights in Australia
