Principle Responsibilities

Conduct group and 1:1 aquatic exercise and therapy programs.Conduct programs in compliance with governing disciplines.Conduct 1:1 instruction and hands-on assistance to clients.Monitor clients' progress and make program changes to facilitate clients' maximum independence and achieve fitness goals.Provide lifeguarding.Transfer clients to and from equipment.Manage and supervise program members during fitness time, provide assistance and coaching on proper exercise technique. Respond to emergency situations. Complete documentation.Maintain class rosters and client records.Obtain prior authorizations and complete client billing.Assist with database management. Perform aquatics and fitness assessments and design exercise programs.Obtain physician approval prior to assessment.Perform initial and re-assessment based on client progress or change in medical status.Review assessment findings and make appropriate referrals.Design exercise programs.Complete documentation.Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology , Therapeutic Recreation or Exercise Physiology Preferred 

Associate's or Vocational degree in Physical Therapy Assistant, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or other health related field Required 

Experience teaching aquatic skills Preferred 

Lifeguard Certification American Red Cross required Within 2 weeks of hire or 

BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required from American Heart Association or Allina Health Within 4 weeks of hire 

American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist or Inclusive Fitness Trainer Preferred
