Dawson Knox Requires Wrist Surgery

Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox will require surgery on his wrist the team announced on Monday. There is currently no expected recovery timeline available for when he will return to on field action.

Head Coach Sean McDermott told reporters that the 26 year old will be sidelined indefinitely and that the club will know more after the procedure is completed. It’s unclear when exactly the tight end injured his wrist, however it’s believed that the procedure is to address a lingering issue.

Knox picked up an injury designation following the Bills 25-20 loss to Jacksonville in Week 5, and evidently the injury appears to be trending in the wrong direction after two weeks of attempting to play through it.

On the year Knox has 15 receptions on 28 targets for 102 yards and 1 TD. In his absence rookie TE Dalton Kincaid is expected to take on a larger role. The 1st year pass catcher is coming off his best performance as a pro this past weekend, hauling in all 8 targets for 75 yards.

With Knox sidelined, Kincaid will operate as the team’s unquestioned TE1, and will look to continue building his chemistry with QB Josh Allen. Buffalo is scheduled to take on Tampa Bay in a Thursday night showdown.
