Wrexham fans could soon see another global star in attendance at the Racecourse Ground if club chief Humphrey Ker gets his way.

The Red Dragons have made a meteoric rise to superstardom after Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds took control of the club alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney in 2021.

The move has thrust the Welsh club into the spotlight as they earned promotion to the Football League in May after a 15-year hiatus.

Wrexham’s newly-found fame has seen names such as Will Ferrell, David Beckham, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, and John Cleese all recently take in a game but there is one other star Ker would like to see at the League Two club.

“I missed our last pre-season game to go and see Taylor Swift in concert,” Ker told talkSPORT. “I got a lot of stick for that from everybody but my wife had booked tickets very early on and it was a great surprise and a wonderful thing.”

Ker was speaking after Reynolds was pictured with Swift at an NFL game between New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The 12-time Grammy award winner was in attendance to see Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce adding to rumours that the pair are romantically linked.

The singer’s ever-growing interest in team sport and her friendship with Reynolds might soon see her make an appearance at Wrexham, something Ker feels he deserves!

“In a way she owes us a trip to the Racecourse because I missed work to come and see her.

“At the end of last season, our final game against Boreham Wood, the game we won to get promoted, one of our fans bounced up to me in the car park beforehand and said ‘I’ve heard Taylor Swift is in The Turf [local pub], is that true?’

“I was like ‘no, no I don’t think so surely I would have heard about that by now?’ I walked on about ten more yards and I was like ‘Is Taylor Swift in The Turf? I don’t know. Can I justifiably go and check?’

“She wasn’t but Paul Rudd was in The Turf – a very worthy substitute. Antman, it’s always good to have an Avenger in your football club if you can get one.”
