Lionel Messi may have been in action but it was Kate Abdo who was the star attraction in Miami last night.

The popular presenter was part of the team broadcasting the clash between Inter Miami and Houston Dynamo with CBS Sports.

But in a light-hearted clip, CBS showed a number of soccer fans crowding the presenter and asking for a selfie.

You don’t become one of the most popular anchors in world sport without the likability factor, something that Abdo showed as she gracefully posed for a number of selfies with supporters.

The 42-year-old Brit may have ended up stealing the show, but she was in town to get a glimpse of Messi in action.

The Argentine Superstar was expected to be part of the Inter Miami side who were facing Houston Dynamo in the US Open Cup final – a clash that they ended up losing 2-1 on home soil.

However, Messi ended up watching the match in the stands as an injury prevented him from even making the bench for Inter Miami.

As well as being disappointing for club owner David Beckham, it was also a blow for Zinedine Zidane who had made the trip to see the Argentine superstar in action, only to be left disappointed.
