Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai scored his first goal for the club in some style with a thumping hit against Aston Villa.

The Hungarian arrived at Anfield from RB Leipzig in a £60million deal as part of the Reds’ midfield rebuild.

He has been quick to impress at his new side in his opening run of games at Liverpool and took things to a new level on Sunday.

Just three minutes into the clash against Villa, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner evaded everyone in the box and fell to Szoboszlai.

The 22-year-old then hit it first time with his left foot and struck it past Emiliano Martinez with superb technique.

It was certainly an impressive way to open his account, and Arsenal Hero Perry Groves was in awe of what he saw.

Speaking on The Sunday Session, he said: “What a strike that is to be fair to Szoboszlai.

“As it comes to the edge of the box, players normally have a swipe of it but he’s controlled it.

“As it’s just bounced he’s hit it on the half-volley, Martinez had absolutely no chance whatsoever, what a fantastic finish.”

Sam Matterface added: “It just looked absolutely obvious. As it went through the penalty they all moved out of the way, the Aston Villa defenders.

“Szoboszlai was lurking. I just thought, ‘He’s going to whack this, it’s going in.”

Szoboszlai has started all of Liverpool’s games this season and with ball-striking like that, he will surely remain a key player.
