Finally, we enter the last week of the summer transfer window. One that has seen a remarkable shift in world football’s pecking order. 

The window threatens to end as it began with shock departures to the Saudi Pro League, while top Premier League sides continue to identify targets that could make the difference between Champions or Europa League football.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all still scrambling to get vital deals after convincing to varying degrees in their opening league fixtures. 

In the Merseysider’s case, the very real danger of losing talisman Mohamed Salah looms while there are several managers looking to shift the deadwood before squad registrations have to be in.

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Mohamed Salah has informed Liverpool that he wants to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad this summer. Manchester City are preparing an improved bid for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes, but are prepared to walk away if the price goes too high. Manchester United have made a surprise inquiry for Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella. The Spanish international has failed to provide sufficient competition to Ben Chilwell since his arrival from Brighton last season and may be of use to the Red Devils. Chelsea want a loan fee of between £8m and £10m to let Romelu Lukaku leave the club. The Blues have been attempting to move the Belgian on from the club throughout the summer but have faced stumbling blocks on many potential transfers. Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has emerged as a potential target for newly promoted Luton Town. Hayden still has three years left on his contract with Newcastle, but is training with the Under-21s side after being deemed surplus to requirements by manager Eddie Howe. (Mail Sport)

Conor Gallagher wants to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea and will reject interest from other clubs amid reports of an approach from Spurs.
