Liverpool thrashed Leicester 4-0 after an impressive performance in their pre-season friendly clash in Singapore on Sunday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp named a strong team and striker Darwin Nunez opened the scoring after half an hour.

Young midfielder Bobby Clark doubled the advantage five minutes later, before Portuguese forward Diogo Jota made it 3-0 before the interval.

Teenager Ben Doak, 17, who had replaced Mo Salah at half-time, added the cherry on the cake with the fourth to further push his case for more first-team action this season.

While Foxes boss Enzo Maresca will reflect on a poor performance that saw his near-full strength side outplayed and outfought by Klopp and Co.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, playing in his now-customary hybrid midfield role, and Alexis Mac Allister worked it out to Diogo Jota on the left, whose shot was parried by Mads Hermansen, with Nunez sweeping home the rebound to give his side the lead.

Star Egyptian winger Salah then played a simple pass to Clark, 18, who swept home with a confident first-time finish to double the lead.

It was three when Salah bent in a gorgeous left-footed cross from the right-hand side for Jota to steam into the area and nod into the far corner.

And a well-worked set-piece move saw Doak score the fourth, with Dominik Szoboszlai’s inswinging corner flicked on by Joel Matip for the former Celtic starlet to flick home at the back post.

Hungarian Szoboszlai had earlier almost scored with an audacious attempt from the halfway line, only for Hermansen to head it backwards and narrowly wide of the post.
