Chelsea fans were left impressed by Trevoh Chalobah’s attempts to get himself in peak physical condition ahead of pre-season training.

The Blues defender wasted no time in getting to work before returning to Cobham next week to begin preparations for the 2023/24 season.

The 23-year-old joins his teammates in their attempts to wipe clean last season’s disappointing 12th-placed league finish with Chelsea targeting at least a top four position next term.

Chalobah took to Instagram to share a snippet of his off-season regime and by the looks of things, he is putting himself through his paces.

In one image, the England U21 star is seen draped in a black Sauna Suit and boxing gloves, looking visibly sweaty and tired.

A short video clip shows Chalobah lifting up the sauna suit as gushes of sweat fall from his body to the floor.

Sauna suits are used primarily to regulate an athlete’s weight particularly when tasked with making division limits before fights.

Long-term use of sauna suits are known to have their benefits by trapping body heat, subsequently increasing perspiration and therefore retaining less water.

Chalobah will have a an early opportunity to impress new boss Mauricio Pochettino, who begins his tenure at the club on Monday.

Players that featured in June’s international fixtures will return at a later date, leaving Chalobah in prime position to catch the eye of the Argentine early on.

The defender will have two weeks of training at Cobham before Chelsea jet out to the United States for their Pre-season tour.

The Blues face off against Wrexham, Brighton and Fulham before taking on Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund.

Chalobah will hope to build on last season’s record where he made 33 appearances across all competitions.
