Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips Remains Determined to stay despite Bayern Munich showing interest.

The 27-year-old emerged as a shock target for Bayern Munich according to reports in Germany, with the club sharing a strong relationship with his agent.

However, he is keen to remain in Manchester and fight for his place in Pep Guardiola’s side next season despite a tough debut campaign personally.

Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic underwent a medical at City on Friday ahead of joining from Chelsea for £25million.

The midfielder is set to be announced after Ilkay Gundogan’s departure to Barcelona.

The midfielder will fight for his place under Pep Guardiola next season despite a lack of action

Gundogan is thought to be on the brink of signing a two-year deal at the Camp Nou, going out on a high after winning the Champions League.

And Man City already have their replacement as they agreed a deal worth an initial £25million for Kovacic who is putting an end to his spell at Stamford Bridge.

And after undergoing a medical, the move is all but done as the Blues continue their summer clear-out.

Despite City’s interest in Declan Rice, Phillips is determined to stay and fight for his place next season.

The England international will face hefty competition for a role in midfield, with Kovacic’s imminent arrival and Guardiola’s interest in Rice making things tricky.

His life will be made harder by the incoming Mateo Kovacic, who has undergone his medical
