Jack Grealish insists he has no regrets over Manchester City’s boozy Treble celebrations

Jack Grealish has played down criticism over Manchester City‘s wild Treble celebrations after describing it as ‘the best weekend of my life’.

Pep Guardiola‘s history-makers recently enjoyed a four-day spell of drinking and partying – across Istanbul, Manchester and Ibiza – in the wake of their Treble success.

Grealish became the face of the festivities and was regularly pictured with a drink in hand throughout.

The wild partying meant the former Aston Villa star was resigned to just 32 minutes of play during England’s recent Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and Macedonia.

Despite his bit-part role in the fixtures, Grealish admits he has no regrets over his actions and later praised the ‘unbelievable’ accomplishment from City.

Grealish then took to social media to thank fans for their support throughout the season

Speaking to talkSPORT, Grealish was asked whether criticisms over the celebrations had bothered him, to which he replied: ‘Not really. I’d done something that comes around once in a lifetime. The last time it was done… I don’t know when Man United did it, but it hasn’t been done for ages.

‘So why not celebrate like that? Everyone was with me. I wasn’t on my own, going out with my friends. I was with the whole team.

‘We enjoyed ourselves on the Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I had the best weekend of my life. I’d just won the Champions League and I was so emotional after it.

‘I was probably on the biggest emotional high I’ve ever been on. The manager didn’t tell me, but I knew I wouldn’t play on the Friday.’

Grealish was left as an unused substitute during England’s 4-0 win over Malta on Friday night, before making a brief cameo against Macedonia on Monday.

Though he didn’t manage to record a goal contribution during the 7-0 win, the City star insists he ‘feels good’ despite the heavy partying.

‘Last weekend was the best weekend I’ve ever had. I’m still trying to come to terms with it. I’ve been on such a high the last week,’ he said.

‘I feel good. I trained on Wednesday and Thursday, and felt alright. Obviously, Saturday and Sunday, I felt good.

‘I came on today and I felt good. Whatever you do in life, there will always be people in the background criticising you. It’s part and parcel of life.

The winger endured a four-day bender that left him out of condition for England’s games

‘My full priority is with England. That’s why I was in camp on Tuesday night. Obviously I had a good weekend, it was the best weekend of my life.’

Grealish was a prominent feature throughout City’s Treble celebrations and helped kick-start proceedings shortly after the final whistle in Istanbul.

The winger was seen singing along to Fleetwood Mac, as the players enjoyed several drinks and danced with the trophy.

Grealish then joined his teammates for more Champions League celebrations on Sunday morning, although he was still wearing his kit from the night before.

Then, along with a large group of teammates that included Haaland, Phil Foden and Kalvin Phillips, he jetted out to Ibiza for a night of partying ahead of a return back for today’s trophy parade.

Mail Sport – who exclusively revealed details of the 12-hour party trip – understands that those involved – which did not include manager Pep Guardiola – chartered a private jet from Manchester to the Balearic island to mark their history-making exploits in style.

The winger, along with his teammates, then return on Monday morning ahead of the team’s trophy parade through Manchester city centre.

Grealish took his Instagram followers live to the celebrations and showed himself drenched in beer as the festivities unraveled.

Now that the season had ended and so have the celebrations, Grealish took to social media to thank fans for supporting City’s ‘unbelievable’ season.

Grealish said City’s stars were entitled to enjoying themselves after their historic achievement

On Twitter, he wrote: ‘Wow… what a season! This is genuinely from my heart… The whole season was unbelievable but the last weekend especially was the best weekend of my life!

‘To win the Champions League and especially to win the treble was something I could barely dream of when I signed for City.

‘I just wanna thank all the fans for the unbelievable support week in week out and also all the staff at city, especially the ones behind the scenes that people don’t see who contribute so so much!

‘Honestly what a club!! Time to enjoy my summer with my family and friends… See you all in 4 weeks for pre season.’
