Everton Football Club has announced the departure of three players whose contracts are set to expire this month.

Yerry Mina, Andros Townsend, and Asmir Begovic will be leaving the club, while Seamus Coleman and Tom Davies have been offered new contract extensions.

Everton, who narrowly secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season, have also exercised the option to prolong midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract until the end of June 2024.

The Merseyside club confirmed that Begovic, the backup goalkeeper, declined a new contract offered by Everton. The Bosnian expressed his gratitude to the fans in a farewell message earlier in the week.

Everton’s director of football, Kevin Thelwell, conveyed his well wishes to all departing players and emphasized the club’s commitment to building a competitive squad for manager Sean Dyche and his staff in the upcoming season.

Seamus Coleman, whose contract was also due to expire this month, suffered a knee injury during a match against Leicester City in May, prematurely ending his season.

The 34-year-old, who has been with Everton since 2009, underwent a knee operation, and Dyche confirmed that he is expected to make a full recovery for the forthcoming season.

By extending Doucoure’s contract, Everton ensures the continued presence of the talented midfielder until 2024. The club’s decision to exercise this option highlights their belief in Doucoure’s abilities and his importance to the team.
