WrestleCon gives fans an opportunity to meet their heroes and in the past, has been highly praised by those who have attended. Unfortunately, though, this year’s WrestleMania convention was tarnished due to Rick Steiner harassing Impact Wrestling star and transgender woman Gisele Shaw. According to the Knockout, she was called “a dude,” “filth,” “a piece of trash,” and told to “get the f*ck away from here” by the WWE Hall of Famer.

WrestleCon would go on to issue an apology and confirmed Steiner had been removed from future days of the event. Now though, the controversy has raised its head again, as WrestleCon has opted to bring Steiner back for their next show in Detroit. And to address the elephant in the room have issued a statement addressing everything that happened and why they’ve chosen to bring Steiner back.

Soon after the announcement, Steiner would trend on Twitter, with many fans outraged he will be back at the event. Nevertheless, Highspots, the company behind WrestleCon, obviously feels strongly about bringing him back and thus are prepared to risk their own reputation and brand by booking him.
