Early Beginnings

Salma’s cricketing journey began in Khulna, where she fearlessly played with the boys. Her talent was nurtured under the guidance of her coach, Imtiaz Hossain Pilu.

Career Highlights

One of the most notable moments in Salma’s career came in 2010 when Bangladesh’s women’s cricket team won a historic silver medal at the Asian Games, competing against China’s national women’s cricket team.

In August 2012, she made her T20I debut against Ireland. Fast forward to June 2018, and Salma was a pivotal part of the Bangladesh squad that clinched their first Women’s Asia Cup title, emerging victorious in the 2018 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup Tournament.

She was appointed the captain of Bangladesh for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier Tournament. Later that year, she captained the team in the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies. She was leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh in that tournament.
