Mohammad Shoriful Islam, born on June 3, 2001, is a promising cricketer hailing from Bangladesh.  Shoriful made his international debut for the Bangladesh Cricket team in March 2021.

Early Days

Shoriful’s cricketing journey began at the domestic and under-19 levels. He made his first-class debut for Rajshahi Division in the 2017–18 National Cricket League, announcing his arrival on the domestic scene.

Shoriful’s skills and tenacity were evident when he made his List A debut for Prime Bank Cricket Club in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. He didn’t take long to make an impact, emerging as the joint-leading wicket-taker for his team with 17 dismissals in just 8 matches.

International Carrer

The journey to international cricket began with his Twenty20 debut for Bangladesh A against Ireland A on August 13, 2018.

In January 2021, Shoriful’s consistent performances earned him a spot in the preliminary squad for the One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies.

A Multifaceted Cricketer

Shoriful is not confined to one format of the game. He showcased his versatility by making his T20 International (T20I) debut against New Zealand on March 28, 2021.

In April 2021, Shoriful received another call-up, this time for the Test format. He was named in Bangladesh’s preliminary Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka and eventually made his Test debut on April 29, 2021.
