This Island Is Unexpectedly The Most Affordable Caribbean Destination In 2023

Even though travel costs, especially airfares, are rising, some places are now cheaper than others.

According to a recent study by travel insurance provider Squaremouth, travelers worldwide are shelling out an average of more than $7,800 per trip.

According to Squaremouth consumers, the average cost of travel this summer was the highest the company has ever recorded.

In particular, prices for travel abroad have risen by more than 25% compared with the previous year.

Several places in the Caribbean top the list of popular cheap travel destinations, including Puerto Rico, which is the cheapest place in the Caribbean, according to Squaremouth’s rankings.

For Squaremouth users, the average cost of a trip to Puerto Rico was $3,907, which put it above trips to Bermuda, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas.

According to the company, the 11 cheapest destinations include Jamaica and Aruba.

What is the reason for the affordable prices in Puerto Rico? Although the cost of accommodations in Puerto Rico continues to rise, flight charges there are far lower as a US domestic destination.

Precisely for this reason, the island has once again achieved a great tourist performance this summer. Visitors are attracted by cheap flights, inexpensive holidays, and the lack of a passport requirement.

Squaremouth Analytics analyzed the sales of travel insurance policies for journeys booked before July 10 with departures between June 21 and September 23.
