With good reason, Pizza is one of the most popular foods in the world. It’s tasty, adaptable, and rather simple to prepare at home. You can make a pizza that tastes just as good—if not better—than anything you could buy from a pizzeria with a few basic ingredients and a little effort.
Components:
For the pastry:
- One cup of warm (105–115°F) water
- Two tsp of dry active yeast
- One tablespoon each of sugar and olive oil
- two and a half cups all-purpose flour
- A single tsp salt
- To use as sauce:
One cup of Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
Your preferred toppings, such sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, and peppers, etc.
Guidelines:
- In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in the warm water to produce the dough. Let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Stir the yeast mixture with the flour, salt, and olive oil until a dough forms. After transferring the dough to a surface dusted with flour, knead it for five to seven minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth.
- After the dough has doubled in size, place it in a bowl that has been oiled, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm location for an hour.
- Make the sauce while the dough is rising. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until softened.
- Fill the pot with the smashed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil. After lowering the heat to low, simmer the sauce for 20 minutes, or until it has thickened.
- Turn the oven on to 500°F.
- Punch down and divide the dough in half once it has doubled in size. Each dough half should be rolled out into a 12-inch round.
- Press the dough rings onto a baking sheet that has been lightly oiled. Leaving a 1-inch border around the edges of the dough circles, evenly spread the sauce over them.
- Add your favorite toppings on the pizzas. Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese over the garnishes.
- The pizzas should be baked for ten to twelve minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
- After a few minutes of cooling, slice and serve the pizzas.
Advice:
- While the oven is preheating, preheat a baking sheet for a crispier crust. Next, add the sauce and toppings after placing the rolled-out dough on the heated baking sheet.
- You might need to bake the pizzas for an additional few minutes if you’re using a lot of toppings.
- You can bake the pizzas on a conventional baking sheet if you don’t have a pizza stone. The crust might not be as crunchy, though.
- Pizza should be reheated by placing it on a baking pan and heating it at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until thoroughly warm.
Modifications:
- If you want a white pizza, just top it with mozzarella cheese, garlic, olive oil, and your preferred toppings. Leave out the sauce.
- Place cooked chicken, mozzarella cheese, red onions, and BBQ sauce on top of a pizza with BBQ chicken.
- Top a veggie pizza with your preferred vegetables, such mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, along with some mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce.
- Play around with your toppings and use your imagination! When it comes to creating pizza at home, there are countless options.
