Real Madrid midfielder wanted by former club in the summer – report

Dani Ceballos renewed his contract with Real Madrid last summer after being reassured of regular minutes at the club. After all, he spent a significant spell in the limelight last season when Luka Modric was ruled out with injury.

The new season, however, has not gone well for the Spanish midfielder. Regular injuries have seen him miss a significant part of the action, while the increased competition in the position has made his role insignificant under Carlo Ancelotti.

Enroute Seville?

As relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Ceballos is once again linked with a move to Real Betis, as he has several times before. This time, however, there is a good chance the deal will come to fruition.

The Spanish outlet reveals that Los Verdiblancos continue to maintain eyes on the Real Madrid star. They believe that this is the year that their former youth player, finally, will return home.

Ceballos’ contract with Real Madrid ties him down to the Spanish capital until 2026. Nevertheless, there are still good chances that the two clubs can make the deal work out.

Competition of the highest extreme
Ceballos indeed deserves to be a starter at a top-level club. Nestled in his prime, he is a player capable of making a difference for any elite club.

His ostracisation at Real Madrid is down to the heavy competition among Ancelotti’s troops and in no way down to a lack of quality.

Los Blancos currently have Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, and Ceballos all competing for just four places in midfield.

A departure this summer, needless to say, could be a possibility. After all, he has only played 247 minutes in La Liga all season.
