PSG shocked by Clermont Foot on the last day of the season in a five goal thriller

In the season’s final game, Clermont Foot defeated PSG at Parc des Princes Stadium.

The French juggernauts were hoping to finish the season at home with a victory as they recently celebrated their title win last week following a draw against Strasbourg.

On the final day of the season, Clermont Foot shocked them by defeating them 3-2 that evening.

PSG scored twice, once through Kylian Mbappe’s penalty and once through Sergio Ramos’ goal. Johan Gastien gave Clermont Foot a chance to get back in the game, and Mehdi Zeffane’s tap-in in first-half stoppage time gave them the equalizer.

Grejohn Kyei’s goal-bound strike from a quality cross in the second half gave Clermont Foot the victory.

Has it happens

The Clermont Foot manager also made two changes to his team that defeated Lorient, while PSG manager Christopher Galtier made two changes to his team that drew with Strasbourg last weekend.

Grejohn Kyei’s brilliant dart into the box to latch on to a cross and buries the ball into the bottom left corner, leaving the goalkeeper stunned, gave the away team the early advantage. However, the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside in the fifth minute.

Sergio Ramos then gave PSG the lead in the 16th minute with a close-range header into the bottom right corner after latching onto a deft lofted pass from Vitinha.

When Kylian Mbappe triumphed in a struggle of wills and sent an unstoppable penalty past Mory Diaw into the right side of the goal in the 21st minute, the home team then demonstrated why they are the champions.

Shortly after PSG scored their second goal, the opposition tied the game with a goal of their own. A lapse in judgment from the defense allowed a lurking Johan Gastien the opportunity to score from close range.

Mehdi Zeffane’s injury-time equalizer, which he tapped in from close range after the rebound fell into his path, stunned the home team, who had thought they were leading going into the halftime break.

Messi in action against Clermont Foot

Both teams had more opportunities to score in the opening minutes of the second half, but the game’s decisive goal was scored by Clermont Foot.

Grejohn Kyei brilliantly dribbles into the box to latch on to a cross, buries the ball into the bottom right corner, and leaves the goalkeeper speechless in the 63rd minute.

On the final day of the Ligue 1 season, PSG was unable to score an equalizer as the away team earned all three points.
