F1 is tough, and someone ‘Haas‘ to finish last.

After finishing 8th in the 2022 championship, it was a gut punch for the Haas team to finish at the back of the pack this year.

Despite the return of the Hulk, Haas was unable to deliver a super season. Saturday pace unfortunately couldn’t convert to Sunday success. Leaving Haas with only 12 points after the final chequered flag was waved.

Hülkenberg baby

Nico Hülkenberg shone in qualifying, beating teammate Kevin Magnussen, 15-7 over the course of the season.

But unfortunately the return of the Hulk wasn’t enough to keep Haas from the bottom spot.

Despite several stellar qualifying performances from Hülkenberg, who reached Q3 8 times this season, he was unable to replicate super Saturdays on Sundays.

Whilst he certainly pulled his weight, scoring 9 out of the team’s 12 points and finishing 7th in Australia (scoring half of the team points for the season).

A few standout performances were not enough to move Haas up the rankings.

Saturday success

Unfortunately for every positive Haas had this season, comes two negatives. A relatively Quick Car over one lap and 11 Q3 appearances, sadly wasn’t enough to help them score significant points on a Sunday.

When it came to race pace and good tyre wear, unfortunately Haas fell short.

After a streak of 13 races with 0 points and stagnant upgrades…at least 2024 can only get better.

It’s safe to say that, a quick car over one lap, is where the success ended.

Looking to 2024

2023 was the first season Haas spent up to the cost cap limit but there’s little to show for it.

Gene will not be pleased…

But if we look on the bright side, you can’t drop lower than last!

Both drivers will be back for the 2024 season and the team will be more motivated than ever to rise up the ranks.
