Fresh Blow to the Scuderia Ferrari Team as the Aerodynamics Chief, David Sanchez Resigns.

The season started with disappointment for the Ferrari team as they suffered mechanical failure for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz wasn’t able to hold on to the last podium position, to score maximum points in their 2023 battle with Red Bull. Well it seems that the bad news keeps rolling their way, as the Ferrari Aerodynamics Chief, David Sanchez has resigned from his post.

The Frenchman had been with Ferrari since 2012 and had worked his way up through the ranks in the Aerodynamics department. Culminating in him becoming the Ferrari Aerodynamics Chief and overseeing the creation and development of the F1-75 and the SF-23, which are the 2022 and 2023 cars respectively.

David Sanchez previously worked with the McLaren team out of Woking for 5 years before joining Ferrari. Speculation points to the return to the Woking-based outfit, after a length of gardening leave. This will then fall in line with the team completing their wind tunnel and newly improved infrastructure at their factory.

In order to fill the void left at the Ferrari team, it is thought that they will promote from within, at least in the short term; Due to periods of gardening required, recruiting from elsewhere on the grid.

David Sanchez was considered a key member of the team under Mattia Binotto and praised for his skill in creating what was one of the best cars in 2022. It remains to be seen what affect his leaving will have on the teams future.
