Helmut Marko fires back at rivals who believe they are gaining an advantage by calling for sanctions against Red Bull.

As opposing teams demand harsh penalties against Red Bull, Helmut Marko has reacted to “completely baseless rumours with the most serious allegations” that have been circulated in the cost cap saga.

According to the F1 governing body report, after the accounts of the ten teams were audited, Red Bull and Aston Martin were the only teams that exceeded the budget cap. Reports showed Red Bull had exceeded the cost lap limit of $145 million in 2021.

While only a “minor” spending violation, Red Bull believed they did not exceed the limit, with team boss Christian Horner continuing to deny the allegations.

Christian Horner met briefly with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem on Friday at the Circuit of the Americas to discuss the terms of a potential “Accepted Breach Agreement.”

The Red Bull team boss canceled a press conference to speak with Ben Sulayem, with Marko refusing to go into specifics about what was discussed.

“There is no new statement,” Helmut Marko told Sky Deutschland, adding that “ongoing talks” are still in progress.

“We are dependent on the FIA. We are waiting for feedback. Now that this has been going on for a few weeks, a few hours will no longer matter.”

While Helmut Marko did not reveal any details during Friday’s chat with the FIA, he did express a few choice words for Red Bull’s rivals.

Red Bull’s team advisor, Helmut Marko, is still picking up the pieces from the leak and the stories that followed.

“That’s the most unpleasant…” “These are completely baseless rumours with the most serious allegations,” Marko said. ” But that didn’t come from the FIA, it came from the competitors.”

“Winning doesn’t make many friends.

“Some think they’re gaining an advantage by doing this, but they don’t think outside the box.”
