“I’ve thought about it, but so much goes on in here, I just wanted to wait until the season is over,” Casey said. “I’m very thankful that I have an opportunity to come back next year, and I think the biggest thing for me is I gotta go home and talk to my daughters. I’ve got two young girls at home that are a big factor in this. I’ve gotta talk to my wife and see what she says. Just kind of piece that together. Then I’m going to talk to Boonie and Cash and see where we’re at.”Said Casey on New York Daily News.

While there hasn’t been an official offer, there have been discussions and talks about Casey returning if Boone also returns. Boone, who has one year left on his contract, anticipates meeting with Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner in Tampa in the coming week.

He also wants to discuss the matter with his wife and then have conversations with Boone and Cashman to determine the next steps.

Casey took over as hitting coach after the mid-season firing of Lawson, a move made as the Yankees struggled offensively and faced injuries to key players like Aaron Judge. Although there hasn’t been a significant improvement in results since Casey’s appointment, the Yankees have noted better communication with the coaching staff.
