While Greg Allen was offered the opportunity to accept an outright assignment to the Yankees’ minor league affiliates, specifically the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he chose to explore the possibility of free agency. Greg Allen’s brief tenure with the Yankees began earlier in the summer when he was acquired from the Red Sox.
