After the T20 World Cup, Abhishek Sharma will undoubtedly be a member of the Indian squad, according to Ambati Rayudu, who hopes the SRH opener will carry over his selfless attitude to the national squad as well. In an interview with Star Sports, Rayudu revealed that he spoke with Abhishek and questioned him about why he wasn’t aiming for huge scores. The former cricket player claimed that Abhishek informed him that all he is attempting to do is smash the ball consistently and remain positive. Rayudu believes he can continue this with the Indian squad since he feels that such altruistic players are extremely rare in the Indian setup.

How do you feel about receiving high scores? “I feel him being absolutely selfless for the team,” he said. “I’m just hitting at the ball and just trying to be positive and hitting every ball for four or six.” When you are in such good form, it is so easy to just take it, take it back to take it easy for a few balls, and then build a big innings and score a hundred.”
 
However, you have to respect a player like that since he is working hard for the team. It is really uncommon to have Indian players in your setup who are more concerned with playing for the team than with themselves, but it is a wonderful quality to have. “I hope he maintains the same mindset entering the Indian team. When he wears the blue jersey, I thought he just played the way he has been playing,” Rayudu stated. “Going forward, I can’t see him not being in the Indian team after the World Cup.”
 
Abhishek has amassed 467 runs at a 38.92 average and a 209.41 strike rate in 13 games. This season, he has so far scored three fifties and forty-one sixes.
