Before the 2025 IPL season, former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris offered some advice to RCB. In the days leading up to the massive auction, which is scheduled to take place over two days, Styris pleaded with the Bengaluru-based team not to take the chance of releasing Rajat Patidar. 

Rajat Patidar’s skill was undeniable, according to Scott Styris, and his late-inning explosion in the 2024 Indian Premier League makes him a valuable middle-order batting option for the RCB. Due to Patidar’s incredible hitting form, the Maharashtra hitter has been a key component of the RCB’s season-long comeback.

“Rajat Patidar has advanced significantly. Whatever the case, we were aware of his skill. But, on Thursday, May 16, Styris told Jio Cinema, “If I were in charge of RCB and if I were allowed to keep four players,”
 
“Among the four would be Rajat Patidar. Consider all the well-known figures in the area; he is undoubtedly among them. He would, however, remain one of the names I would keep. I’ll say something like, “No, no, we’re not even going to take a chance by reopening your case.” You are too talented. He continued, “I believe he will get stronger every year.”

In a season where Glenn Maxwell has struggled, Rajat has shown himself to be a valuable player in the middle overs for the Royal Challengers Bengal. He is in fantastic hitting form against spin. In the IPL 2024, Patidar has struck at 224.69 against the spinners and has blasted 20 sixes against them.
