Despite their convincing victory in the second Twenty20 International against Ireland, the Men in Green bowlers received criticism from the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja, on Monday. Ireland scored 193/7 in the first inning after Pakistan’s top speedsters, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Abbas Afridi, combined to give up 162 runs. 
 
Out of the four, Shaheen and Amir proved to be the most expensive, as they handed up runs at a minimum economy of 11.0. Despite taking three wickets in his four overs, Shaheen lost 49 runs. During his four-over performance, Amir claimed just one wicket but also let up 44 runs.
 
Even so, Pakistan’s batsmen were able to hide and easily surpass the 194-run goal with more than three overs remaining. Ramiz criticized Pakistan’s pacers for leaking runs at a high economy rate throughout the innings in their match against Ireland. 
 
The 61-year-old believes that the visitors would have been in the driver’s seat if Ireland had been able to take Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman’s catch.
 
It appeared as though our bowlers were behind when they gave up 200 runs against Ireland. Had they claimed the catches of Rizwan and Zaman, Pakistan would have had more difficulty pursuing the mark. If Pakistan’s best bowlers continue to give up so many runs against Ireland, things will get difficult for the squad going forward. The bowlers of Pakistan, particularly the pacers, are their strongest suit and have been since the World Cup in India last year. It’s difficult when there are two good balls and three terrible deliveries, as Ramiz stated on his YouTube channel.
 
Following Pakistan’s victory, the series is now tied at one. The third match, which takes place on Tuesday at the Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin, will determine the series’ winner.
