The RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis, attributed their successful IPL 2024 run to their regained confidence and the diligent work they have done in the background. In their penultimate league game of the season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB defeated Delhi by 47 runs to win their fifth straight game, matching their second-best winning streak in IPL history.

With their bowlers stepping up to demoralize Delhi, who were without their captain Rishabh Pant, who missed the crucial game due to a one-match ban for an over-rate infraction, RCB successfully defended 187.
It was noteworthy since it was the first time since 2019 that RCB had defended a target in a twilight match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

In his post match presentation Faf du Plessis said, “Fantastic, we gave a really good performance. It is simply self-assurance. During the first part of the season, we were only battling it out. After RCB crushed DC in Bengaluru, Faf du Plessis stated, “We couldn’t get wickets in the first five or six games, but we’ve bowled the opposition out about three times now.”

With just one victory in their first eight games, RCB was wallowing at the bottom of the points table last month. Few would have predicted that RCB would be vying for a postseason berth. Nevertheless, following their victory over Delhi on Sunday, the Du Plessis-led team rose to fifth place in the standings. But in order to make the playoffs, RCB, who play CSK in their last league match on Saturday, still need a number of other outcomes to go their way.
