The Indian captain continued his great form in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 and smacked a solid fifty against the arch-rivals Pakistan and helped the team to win three back-to-back matches.

After restricting Pakistan to a comfortable total of 191 runs, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma took his command in batting and scored 86 runs in 63 balls with the help of six fours and six sixes. Indian captain Rohit Sharma made history with his explosive batting.

During this inning, Rohit completed 300 sixes in One Day Internationals (ODIs). By reaching this milestone, he became the first Indian and the third cricketer in the world to achieve this feat. Apart from Rohit, this list includes Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi. Gayle has hit 351 sixes in this format, while Afridi has 331 sixes to his name.

Rohit has now claimed the record for the fastest 300 sixes in One Day Internationals. He achieved this milestone in just 246 matches. To complete 300 sixes in ODIs, Gayle took 282 matches, while Afridi played 324 matches in his ODI career.

In this match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. While batting first, Pakistan was bundled out for 191 runs in 42.5 overs. For Pakistan, skipper Babar Azam scored the maximum 50 runs while Mohammad Rizwan got 49 runs. They both clocked seven fours each.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja got two wickets each.

While chasing the target of 192 runs, India lost its first wicket on 23 when Shubman Gill returned to the pavilion with an individual score of 16 runs, while Virat Kohli also departed after scoring 16 runs in 18 balls. After this Indian skipper Rohit Sharma started accelerating and played a sensational knock of 86 runs in just 63 balls. In this inning, he grabbed six fours and six sixes. Shreyas Iyer contributed with 53 runs and took the team home in 30.3 overs.
