Former South African pacer and one of the legends of the game, Dale Steyn has picked his top-5 fast bowlers who can shine in the upcoming ODI World Cup. Dale Steyn selected a group of fast bowlers, which includes India’s Mohammed Siraj, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada, Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi, New Zealand’s Trent Boult, and England’s Mark Wood. Steyn also mentioned that Trent Boult is a strong contender to emerge as the top wicket-taker in the tournament.

The 50-over ODI World Cup is set to commence on October 5 with defending champion England and runner-up of 2019 edition New Zealand in Ahmedabad. As part of their preparations, teams are currently participating in warm-up matches. India’s first practice match is scheduled against England in Guwahati on Saturday, September 30.

Dale Steyn gives his opinion while having a conversation with ICC. While talking about Suraj, he said,”[He] swings the ball upfront, knocks over the big batters, key players for India.”

He talked about his countryman South Africa and said,”Big bounce, lots of pace, familiar with Indian conditions.”

Talking about Trent Boult, he predicted,”Boult swings the ball upfront for New Zealand, a big wicket-taker. I think he is going to be the leading wicket-taker in this World Cup.”
